Extent of Arctic Sea Ice

2002 to present, with averages for the previous three decades

The extent of Arctic sea ice, being the areal sum of sea ice covering the ocean (i.e. sea ice plus open ocean between the ice) where sea ice concentration exceeds a threshold of 15%.
